First Meeting | Elder Xanloise

  • Xan: -Puts clipboard down get a bit closer makes sure to maintain eye contact- Succeeding means you're still eligible to be alive in this world.
  • El: -reaches out and touches his face- You feel like...when it's bright and warm outside and they take me for exercise...you feel like that.

  • Xan: -looks at and lets confusion flash over his face before straightening up- You follow me because you have to. You don't have a choice. You do as your told. You succeed.
  • El: What does that mean? Succeed? I don't think I want to do that. -Pauses as she attempts to remember social skills she's been taught- But thank you very much, have a pleasant...um...evening?

  • Xan: -looks at hand. Places clipboard between her hand and him- I feel like a human being. -looks at then looks at clipboard starts walking- Follow me.
  • El: No... -looks at him- Why would I follow you? What if I don't want to follow you?

First Meeting | Elder Xanloise

  • Xan: I don't make mistakes. On the front of this door it says Zero. I was told to go to the door that says zero on it. On this clipboard it has a picture of you and it says zero where your name ought to be, but because of you lack of classification you don't have a name.
  • El: -looks at him for a second- One time, I think I was seven, there was a woman here who was almost as tall as you, but maybe that's because I was smaller -pauses- her hair was yellow, but she was tall...you're taller though, what's it like being able to touch the ceiling? I always wondered what it felt like, things all feel the same. You feel the same as me right? Or do you feel different when you're taller? -holds out hand- I bet you're going to feel like bread...

  • El: I think you have the wrong room Mr clipboard, no zeroes here. -smiles sympathetically- That's alright, I won't tell anyone you made a mistake.
